Jaume Plensa: Water’s Soul, curated by Jean Blanchaert, traces the evolution of the artist's sculptural explorations in Murano glass.

The exhibition features seventeen Murano sculptures. Visitors to the exhibition are greeted by Laguna, two heads emerging from a sheet of glass, evoking Venetian water. Water’s Soul, which gives the exhibition its title, is another homage to the city of Venice. The sculptures are created through the casting technique, which involves pouring molten glass into a wax mold modeled by the artist. This mold is then cast in plaster, allowing the glass to solidify over a period of two months.

Plensa’s work explores the relationship between body, word, and spirit through works that combine monumentality and poetic lightness. The material of glass reflects the light and fluidity of Venetian water, evoking an intimate dialogue with the surrounding environment.

The exhibition is on view through January 6, 2026, at Negozio Olivetti, FAI Fondo per l’Ambiente Italiano, Piazza San Marco, Venezia.
