Jaume Plensa

Jaume Plensa's Janus, the upcoming exhibition with Fondazione Berengo in Venice, looks to the double-faced Roman god in a site-specific installation presented throughout the 15th-century interiors of the Chiesa di San Gallo. Curated by Adriano Berengo, Janus features new works in alabaster and glass and opens to the public on April 19 and is on view through September 30, 2024.

The exhibition follows Plensa’s Together, the 2015 collateral event of the 56th International Art Exhibition at La Biennale di Venezia. Presented in Basilica di San Giorgio Maggiore, the installation reflected the artist’s continued interest in the body's relationship to space, scale, material, and place.
