WOLFSON ESTATE SALE ASSIGNED TO RICHARD GRAY GALLERY
Modern Paintings, Drawings & Sculptures
September 17 - November 27, 2002

A multi-million dollar collection of modern art, assembled during the 1950's and 1960's by the late Mr. and Mrs. Howard Wolfson of Chicago, will be on view at Richard Gray Gallery in New York and Chicago from September 17 - November 27, 2002. Being offered for purchase are works by Jean Arp, Victor Brauner, Jean Dubuffet, Phillip Guston, Mikhail Larionov, Roberto Matta, Jean Metzinger, and Larry Rivers.

Highlights from the collection include Phillip Guston's major 1956 canvas "Prague" acquired from the Sidney Janis Gallery in 1958 and Roberto Matta's "Revolt of the Opposites" of 1944, from the same series as the Museum of Modern Art's masterful "The Onyx of Electra."

Most of the works in this collection have not been exhibited publicly since the Wolfson family originally acquired them. Richard Gray Gallery, which is marking the beginning of its 39th season, is proud to announce the representation of this important collection.
